What should you lock before you rewrite a client draft?
Lock the price, the date, the name, and any line the client must see unchanged. Plainvoice keeps that span as written and shows the difference. It does not promise a detector will accept the result.
A client draft fails when a rewrite rounds a price, moves a deadline, or softens a name. Those are the spans to lock before you press Humanize.
Lock the exact characters. A price stays a price. A time stays a time. A quoted line stays inside its quotation marks. The comparison then shows that span in both columns.
Anything you did not lock can be reworded. The meaning stays. New facts do not get added.
